Majestically alit with golden lightings, shining all the way toward the grand entrance, you are probably stuck amongst hundreds of other guests who have been invited to the biggest event of the year. At the door, you can see the seven Sisters of Purgatory lining up aside the door performing their roles as the banquet ushers. Satan (part of the sisters) on the other hand is the one in charge of obtaining the invitation plate that each couple is supposed to bring along. Past the door leading into the estate’s interior is of course a massive hall with high ceiling and golden chandeliers hanging down from it. At the floor-level, there are countless tables where foods are served by the goat-headed attendants. In the middle of the room is of course the spotless dancing floor where most of the night’s activities will be taking place. If you were to look even further back, you will see the massive twin staircases joining together in the middle, leading all the way down to the floor with its surface embellished with a nice, crimson carpet befitting that of royalty.
Posting-info: For the introductory sequence, the posting order will be determined by first come first serve (preferably the paired up partners posting one after another). Each GROUP will have their own posting order so make sure you label on the top of your post which group you belong to. This first part will be running TWO cycles of posting, meaning that once both groups have posted twice, stop and wait for me to GM the next step. Go!

A rather intimidating female glowered at the crowd, assessing the onslaught of guests. Stepping forward, Sunday waved the crisp invitation before her, the guard quickly snatching it from her fingertips to glance over its contents then eye her surreptitiously. With a curt nod, Sunny passed the tense inspection and crossed the threshold of the banquet hall. Slipping off to the side, she patiently waited for her date to do the same.
Glancing around, Sunday observed the bustling guests that murmured with excitement and intrigue. She couldn’t blame them really. The scene was quite impressive and the extravagance displayed by the host was unparalleled. Turning around briefly to search for Dallas, Sunny caught her reflection in a rather pristine, silver vase, complete with a dewy lily amidst the center of crimson roses. Her thick ivory hair was pulled delicately over one shoulder, brushing against the top of her navy gown. Nothing too flashy of course. Sunny preferred to uphold a sense of modesty, keeping any unwanted attention at bay. And while the dress was rather comfortable, the footwear was not. With a tired groan, Sunny bent her knee, left her leg behind her to fidget with her heel. A blister was already starting to form. Throwing another glance at the doorway, she mused, “Dallas is taking his sweet, precious time, isn’t he? That twit better not have forgotten his invitation.”

Finally! They were doing some work while actually doing something fun! Posing as a priest to swindle people out of donations was more tiring than he cared to admit. But, a grand ball? It was like something straight out of a novel specifically for our dark hero, the predator who oh so good at being a wolf in sheep's clothing. Adjusting the tailored black suit, the silk red dress shirt under it that he fell in love with on first sight, he waded his way into the crowd. With a grace that seemed to be more fitting with a shadow, a being that you could see or even feel but simply wasn't there, he made his way to the front. He flipped out an invitation from his sleeve, the one that basically told everyone he was more important to them and thus move out of his way. The rather intimidating woman, who looked more fitting with her hands wrapped around some poor sap's neck, let him through into the main hall that burned his eyes with tons of artificial light. All the brightness gave Dallas a faint but throbbing headache, but doing nothing to dampen his mood; he did his best work with a handicap.
Spotting his favorite illusion magi inspecting herself through a vase, he strutted over to her, yanking a wine glass from the plate of the many goat-headed servers."No need to look yourself over! You look as beautiful as the day I met you," the lesser vampire purred into Sunny's ear as he snuck behind her, his dress shoes gilding across the floor with such quiet grace, it was as if he simply didn't exist. Looking his parnter up and down, he nodded curtly as if he was approving her attire; after all, he couldn't be seen with some disheveled scrub if he was going to be doing his best work here." take it you got everything worked out? Or are we working blind today"? Plan or no plan, Dallas was prepared; accustomed to situations in which he had to think on his feet, he was more than sure his supernatural skills of improvisation would yet again save the day.

EXTRASTUFF damaris is a snob :] TEMPLATE BY MRS. JAZZY WEASLEY ?! @ CAUTION 2.0 ♥ Group #1 Damaris supposed that most of her fellow ball-goers were impressed by the lavish estate of the Eternal hosting the ball. But as she waved her invitation at the servitor spirit and glided into the banquet hall, the only emotion that stirred her was a nagging feeling of disquiet. Why had she bothered to come here, simply because that foolish Eternal Aiden had extended the invitation? He might as well have been a child beside her. So why had she dressed herself up so finely? Her personal maid had assumed that the frothy lace and sheer silk of the dress Damaris had ordered meant that her mistress had been called to attend her cousin the Seelie King, not attend a ball; no matter how prestigious of a host had arranged the event.
Well it was too late for these silly thoughts of hers. What was done was done. One of the servers approached her with a tray of delicacies, but Damaris waved him off. She would wait until Aiden arrived to fully begin this experience. As the fae arranged herself at a table, adjusting her volumious skirts, she examined the hall to see if anyone interesting was in attendance. She spotted a magi and, to her disgust, a lesser vampire, in conversation, but saw no one else of great importance. The Seelie pressed her white-gloved hands together in her lap and let out a sigh. She never thought that she would think such a thing, but Aiden better arrive soon. This night would be tedious without him. For a near-royal fae, Damaris was exceedingly disillusioned with escapades such as this; unless one had an amusing and intelligent companion, they could instill a great feeling of deathly boredom.

Aiden was many things, but he wasn't rude—so instead of appearing in the banquet hall, he entered the common way, accepting the respectful bows of the Seven Stakes of Purgatory. They may have been hosting another Eternal's show tonight, but they still acknowledged him as a past and future master. The fact cheered him slightly as he scanned the area, fiddling with his right sleeve. Aiden had no idea what had possessed him to dress like this. His recent visit to the mortal realm? Wherever the inspiration had come from, he sorely regretted his choice now. The formal white tie outfit was confining and slightly itchy. He should have just worn his black cargo pants and jacket. Aiden felt like a walking mannequin, and he knew he looked like one as well.
His black tailcoat was double-breasted—albeit unbuttoned—and the cut was squared in the front. His white cotton marcella shirt and stiff-fronted collar were about as comfortable as wearing scorpions. The silk bow tie just added a dose of humiliation onto his discomfort. At least his pants were tolerable—just black trousers with a white braid. And upon seeing the leather pumps and gloves that the saleslady had told him completed the outfit, Aiden had decided he'd gone far enough. Hence why he wore his pants tucked into black combat boots and his hands were most certainly glove-free. Did he spoil the entire effect by not completing the outfit? Perhaps, but it was the thought that counted.
Walking past a female mage and a lesser vampire, Aiden found Damaris already seated at a table. She'll certainly give me hell for arriving after her, he thought as he approached the table, but as Aiden drew close enough to really see her, any apprehensive feelings he may have had faded away. The Seelie was beautiful. Gorgeous. Her pale skin flushed under the lights, pulling out the unnatural blue of her eyes. Soft waves of pink-blonde hair cascaded down her back, with two locks pulled forward to frame her face. Her white ballgown was layer upon layer of a silk masterpiece. Eight hundred and four years of life, and Aiden felt like a seventeen year old boy with his first crush.
“You look nice,” Aiden said roughly as he sat down beside her, going for the lowest denominator of a compliment. If he aimed any higher, he might get carried away, and he knew for a fact that she would never let him forget that. “I hope you haven't been waiting long,” he added as he made eye contact with a server, who swept over with a silver tray of food and wine glasses. Taking a sip of the dark red wine, Aiden made an obligatory noise of appreciation for the vintage and eyed the two seats still available at their table. Who would sit there? “See anyone you know?” Aiden murmured, still averting his gaze from Damaris.

Group 4/all around me/are familiar faces/worn out faces/worn out places When Ella got to the Solstice Banquet, she didn't know what she was thinking, coming here of all places, where everyone was dressed so extravagantly and everything around her looked impeccable! It made Ella feel very small and unworthy, even though the Solstice Banquet was open to every race of every class.
Looking down at her garments, Ella realized for the hundreth time how low class she looked. She had nothing pretty or fancy, and no money to buy it with either. So Ella was stuck with wearing a boring white and black dress she had bought for the "prom" thing when she was a mortal. Sure, it was pretty good for prom, but not for a high-class event like this! Hell, mortals didn't have to deal with overpowering Eternals that could whoop your little ass in a second when they went to prom! It was true the Solstice Banquet was made with good intentions, but some of the attendants didn't have that good intention. And Ella knew that well.
What was even worse was that Ella forgot to secure a date! Lucky for her, she still managed to get in, but without a date she'd be kicked out of the door in no time at all. Looking around in panic, Ella tried to find a single man to use. ( OOC: Please note that I do have a date for Ella, we're just planning our meeting in the Solstice Banquet thread as we both have no lovers. XD Also, this post is crap. Sorry, I promise the next one will be better~! )

Don't know why, you never gonna stay in sight I just wanna know what the hell is goin' down ----------------------------------- Group #4It was going to be his first time and probably the last that he would ever attend such a party like this one, never before entering such a grand castle as this one. Even if he could remotely remembering once attending grand parties which occurred in between skirmishes, none were as comparable as this one, in a place far more splendid than anywhere in Japan. Still, as he stood amongst the pairs of people that were also gathering for whatever celebration that host had in mind, Rider could only feel out of place. He was alone at the moment though not without a partner, his lady telling him to move one ahead to where the gathering place was supposed to be. And because of this, he could only feel a sense of discomfort amongst those used to such a setting. He felt he wasn’t going to enjoy this party as much as the other would, but was still determined enough to try not seeming too out of place. After all, once his duty for being summoned was complete, events such as this one would only seem like a mere dream.
He readjusted the white tailored coat he had on, still not exactly used to the apparel since this was only the second time he wore such a thing, the first being when they purchased the outfit for him to use on this occasion. It was over a black long sleeve shirt, which surprisingly was comfortable to the male, but not as much with the suit on top. Even the pants he had on felt rather constricting, the traditional Japanese male more used to wearing the loose hakama upon his lower body, along his a pair of sandals in contrast to the leather shoes which covered his feet. Needless to say, he dreaded the whole ‘coat and tie’ attire, yet his mistress insisted for the sake of him not looking foolishly standing out among the rest of the attendees. Even my armor is more comfortable that this… he thought to himself, knowing that he would have to bear with it for now. The only real question now was whether or not he can survive this evening ball without cause any problems for his lady.
A yawn escaped his lips as some of his impatience were starting to become evident, hoping things would get started so it’ll end sooner as well. He was never the kind of enjoy such formal occasions anyway, always craving for some sort of exciting incident to happen to relieve his feelings for boredom. A part of him hoped he could get into some sort of conflict with another there, yet he knew such thoughts and actions were not to be permitted and tolerated. Still, he did feel something amidst those that were already there, yet he could not tell what each person was. He knew they were not fellow Servants, yet all still exude a certain amount of mysterious power from themselves, several bearing much more than his own mistress. Speaking of which…

The posh, extravagant, lavish, rich, and if you couldn't guess fancy ball was taking place this wonderful and magical evening. It was indeed the sophisticated solstice banquet he had heard so much praise about, and he had been lucky enough to be able attend it himself. And lucky enought to attend it with her of all people, it would indeed be a good night and one to remember at that. His parents would be proud as punch if they were here. He had been anticipating this day ever since he first learned about it, and ever since the question was popped when he met her, things had been in an ever slow pace, each day being far too long a wait for this one day. He fit in like the perfect sized puzzle piece, all decked up and primped and proper like a christmas tree looking his absolute best, for her of course. His fancy decor setting him into the scene of elegance and high society in a rather cohesive way. From the bottom of his polished shoes, to the top of his flame red hair. His black blazer, his black silk pants, a white tucked shirt and a white ruffle. The whole entourage set off by a dazzlingly red corsage. He was in every sense divine, high society, suave, sophisticated, and completely and utterly exquisite. Through the chatting, chilling, chortling crowd he weaved his way. His eyes gazed with an almost childish wonder as he observed all these various colors, sexes, ages, and races, you name it and by god the solstice banquet had it. It was a myriad of diversity all united in harmony for a single event with which the sole purpose was only enjoyment, and perhaps some enjoyable romance. Couples arm in arm flirted, talked with each other, and talked with others. Those lone bachelors and bachelorettes looking for that special someone flocked around trying to find a partner. Some preferred the solitary route, he didnt quite understand this but he payed it no mind, they were here to have a good time and so was he. Chaperones caringly escorted those they deemed fit to come yet were not quite of age to be alone and unsupervised. Valet's reigned in the transportation of those who preferred to exhibit their vehicle. Bouncers both bulky and terrifying, uniformly dressed in black with their blocker sunglasses sorting those they deemed as riffraff from the party. He gazed around himself as he waltzed towards the the grand magnificent doors to the actual event, it was time to party. Each step brought a new dazzling site to his eyes, each more amazing then the last in so many different ways. Food, of all nationalities quantities and expenses. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, after dinner mints. They had the whole nine miles. Each dish decadently shaped making it's looks no doubt rival if not superceed the taste of the entray. Among the various dishes were beautiful ice scultpures that no doubt took exacting hours of precision to carve. Buying ice to be showy? Yeah thats only a rich person thing. I will never understand it For some reason he wanted to flare his magic and melt it but he didnt know quite why. And at that he was already late, warm eyes looked across the crowd, a few meeting his gaze, a few even sizing him up at that. But he was taken. He locked his eyes on his date, she stood out in a light only he saw. He slowly walked up behind her. He placed his hand around her waist and spun her around holding her waist with both of his hands now. He spoke to collonello It's a good thing I wasn't any later. You look so beautiful someone might up and snatch you from me He gazed into her eyes and smiled.

Post by Tenrou Kurokaze on Feb 9, 2010 11:20:20 GMT -5
Tenrou slowly walked towards the entrance, in his finest clothes. Like everyone, he was invited to the Solstice Banquet, and he wasn't one to refuse a party. He could drink, eat, and dance, and it was lots of fun. Of course, there were numerous self important people, but he didn't let them get to him. He was older, than most of them, and he could always pull the 'respect your elders' card anytime should they become and annoyance. It was time to have fun, and he didn't want to be left out. His clothing consisted of black pants, a white dress shirt, a black vest with dark red lining, and a black coat, with rich silver embroidery that reached his ankles. It was held together by a brown leather belt on his waist, and thin golden ropes. His clothing was completed with black riding boots. The set wasn't exactly modern, it was something he got in Europe some 200 years ago, but it was in perfect shape, and he liked it a lot. It was easier to move in than those modern tuxedos, and suits, and under the long coat he could store his reserve metal. He knew this was a ball, but he never left home without his titanium, and he wasn't going to start doing so now.
Reaching the gate, he produced his invitation, and told Satan that he just had to leave for a minute, and his date was already inside, thus managing to get inside without too much trouble. It was quite interesting for him. He hadn't met all that many Servitors, and the seven Stakes of Purgatory were quite... unique. He was curious about how they got so renowned, but it wasn't the time to ask them questions. They had their tasks, and he knew they probably wanted to get it done as soon as possible, so they could do whatever they wanted to do. He was a servitor like them after all.
Walking around the room with a cheerful smile, he decided to find something to do, and possibly find a date. That way he would be able to cover up his lie, and he would have a dance partner as well. He could see a table, filled with dishes from all around the world. Some of them he knew, but that wasn't what got his attention. There were different cookies on ornate plates, and he could feel his mouth water. He walked to the table with a dazed expression, and reached out for a chocolate chip cookie. He slowly raised it to his mouth, taking a single bite, before his eyes widened, and he finished it in a single bite. Then he took five more, and wolfed them down in a single gulp. His smile grew even wider, and left turned around to leave the table. That was when he noticed a girl standing in the crowd, looking around, panic written all over her features.
Tenrou walked up to her, his mind already set to having some fun. With some luck she had no date.
"Hi there! May I know why such a pretty lady is without a date at an event like this?" asked the spirit, his eyes smiling as well.

As he graciously made his way through throngs of people, Hannibals’ distinctively lustrous golden hair set him apart from the rest of the crowd. As a rather famous figure among the guests who were invited to the banquet, it was only natural for the grand summoner to return their greeting with a gentlemanly smile. Of course, like all proper invitees, Hannibal arrived with his date, a rather plain cute Fae with well, a round face, hair in proper places, and… at any rate, the man felt rather sore at the fact that his accompaniment wasn’t the voluptuous Seelie diva the sister had promised him. But if he could even boost her image a little bit by lowering his own, Hannibal thought he could obtain extra karma point and thus continue to pull people’s attention away from her Fae and more toward his golden smile. Among the crowd, he could pick out some rather big names though, and definitely females with attires that had the concept of covering as little skin as possible.
Noticing that a button on his blazer was loose, Hannibal reached down toward his ivory suit and corrected the attire malfunction, making sure his ties, shirt, and rose were all proper before he turned to his date and leaned further toward the Fae, grooming her rose and hair. Once they were completely perfect, Hannibal pulled the Fae toward the Purgatory sisters and flashed them their invitation and emerged in the grand hall. As a goat-headed attendant came and presented a tray of alcoholic drinks to the two, the summoner picked up a glass and washed his parched throat with a single gulp letting his tongue bask in the savory of the unworldly wine. “Come, let us enjoy this banquet to the fullest, my little one.”

She should've just stayed home.
Not only did this enormous gathering practically consume her but Asha was feeling particularly inferior to her date. She may be a Noble Fae of the Seelie Court, she reasoned, (and very recently employed as a personal musician for the Queen) but she could have dressed in the most beautiful gown ever created with the perfect jewelry and shoes to match, and she still would've been positively plain in comparison. The whole process on which the Sprite had gained a powerful Summoner, of all people, to accompany her to the party of the century still seemed hazy in her mind. Regardless, she was greeted with perhaps the most charming features she had ever seen on a man. Sir Hannibal Atrocious was classy indeed, with perfectly crafted features and hair that could have been pure gold for all she knew. Upon arrival to the glorious mansion that would play host to the banquet, Ash began to immediately fuss with her own dress; it was lovely in construction with full skirts and long sleeves. She should've felt like a princess, but with the added weight of all the outside forces, poor little Asha felt more second-rate than usual.
It was the flood of people that were making her nervous. It wasn't even the fact that she hardly knew who any of them were -- it was just the sheer number of them all that made her heart pound. And of course, with the crowds that were slowly streaming inward, it made it difficult to keep up with Sir Hannibal. She was but a tiny Fae in an ocean of larger beings and even with her rapidly fluttering wings, there had been a few times where she had almost lost him. But of course, that man was like a beacon of light; Asha managed to return to his side within moments. Stopping briefly, the young lady took a moment to refocus her Glamour. She had taken extra care to make herself a tad bit bigger so that she was actually noticeable and not just some bug that was floating around. The only other difference was her rosy pink locks which were made to look longer and therefore, styled much more easily. Her green eyes had barely opened once more when her date took the time to move in closer and straighten a few out of place decorations, (a strand of hair here and there, and the rose which was given to her). Hannibal obviously didn't need any pruning; Asha doubted there was a time when he didn't look flawless, really, but the snowy coloured suit was notably admirable.
Apparently satisfied with her appearance, the Summoner pulled her towards the mansion, gained them entrance, and in that same fluid motion, the two of them joined a multitude of others inside. While moments ago it was taking all her will power not to fidget, it was currently taking all her will power not to gape at the extravagant setting. No time wasted, one of the servers appeared with a tray of drinks. A frown flickered across the Fae's face and she politely refused, partly because drinking this early would probably result in unwanted consequences later and partly because the glasses all just seemed to big, (oh, the woes of being less than a foot tall). Turning from the Goat-headed butler, Ash found herself being spoken to in a melodious voice. The words startled her, though she wasn't sure why, and it took her a moment to let a smile ease onto her pink lips. "Lets," she answered simply with a nod. It would do her good, she thought, if she would learn to relax and enjoy such events.

When she felt the unshielded energy of an Eternal approach her, the fae turned in her chair, watching Aiden as he made his way through the hall. He certainly cleaned up nicely. His unusual hair was sleek and shone under the bright lights, pulled up in a high ponytail. And his outfit was formal, fit for the ball, and appeared to be made of the highest material. Eying him up and down, Damaris let a small smile cross her face as she saw that Aiden had forgone dress shoes, favoring boots instead.
And to her intense amusment (and perhaps she felt a slight quiver of geniune happiness) Aiden seemed to be as taken with her appearance as she was with his. Of course the Eternal ruined the step forward he had taken with the Seelie the moment he sat down beside her. Nice? Damaris knew she looked a fine sight more than nice. As he said an obligatory apology, taking a wine-glass in one hand as he spoke, Damaris simmered. The stupid man sounded more appreciative of his alcohol than he did of her. As if he'd ever found a woman as good as her in his life, no matter how long he had lived. Which is most certainly not as long as me, the fae thought proudly.
Aiden asked her if she had seen anyone she knew, still not meeting her gaze. “A few people,” Damaris said. “Some fellow fae that I am acquainted with, and I saw two vampires. What about you? Anyone interesting turn up? Will you finally display those much-vaunted Eternal powers?” Damaris flagged down one of the servants and instructed the servitor in low tones as he whirled a plate into existence, sliding the steaming meal in front of the fae. Steak tartare and roasted asparagus. One of Damaris' favorite meals, but somehow with Aiden watching her intently, his gold eyes burning, her mouth was too dry for eating to be enjoyable.

And with that make up and such dress, it would definitely make her so insecure. But she was all comfortable now, seeing him makes her ease a bit. THat high heeled shoes were just like boots without the upper part extended, and she was used on those. The ruffles was also the match display, while she eyes on herself, thinking of various things before looking up on him. Bakaa...I hate it, I really hate wearing dresses, but... At least I have tried... and suddenly, it felt good when someone praised me... , she thought with her blushes still not wearing off. She could see the several people now, and not far from the distant, one of her Musicians was also there. It made her twice comfortable, for at least some people she knows were there too. And then eyeing back at his date, Colonello queasily looked at him while her eyes were still fluttered with a nervous feeling. "..Anno,arigatoo...(thank you.)", she said in a shy manner, expressing her thanks for the man while she looked at him. But one thing quite bothered her, the corsage. She pulled her fan for awhile in her pelts and fixed it accordingly. "Hmm, well at least this is a lot better. There you go.", she added, with her sweet smile cascading her expression. “Those 'much-vaunted' powers aren't going to come out at a ball, hopefully,” Aiden said as he took another sip of wine. “Besides, Edgar is hosting this, I don't know why there would be any trouble. And if there is trouble, I'm perfectly content to let him handle it. This is relaxation for me, I'm not going to exert myself.” The words were practically aching with laziness—Aiden's inherent nature. He hoped the Seelie wouldn't take offense. If it really came to it, he'd protect Damaris and himself of course, but he really did hate fighting. Battles got messy.
As the fae ordered her meal, Aiden addressed her earlier remark. Steak tartare? Interesting chioce for a Seelie—the few (besides Damaris, obviosuly) that he knew would rather save a cow than eat one. His little good fae had some bite to her. “Vampires?” He parroted, his mouth twisting in disdain. “I'm glad I didn't see them. Edgar's ball or not, they'd be out of here flat on their ass. I saw an Eternal I know, but no one else.” He settled back in his seat, smoothed wrinkles out of his pants. “But anyway, I fear this event is about to start in proper. I hope it turns out to be good.” Or at least not to be a waste of his time. Any excitement was good excitement---but boredom was only a reminder of his continued, unchanging excistence.
