join our battle, join our war
"...a time of great fear and pain is upon us. May only the truest of the alliances preceed to live in happiness with full health. May the others die in vain to their pathetic attempts to save their sorry hides." ~ withering tales local
YOUR JOURNEY WILL BEGIN
Stars are out, you are rolling down a desolate highway, Man carting you to your next house of horrors. What do you do? What can you do? Tethered to this rolling stall, your head is encased in an old nylon halter. Hope seems slim, but, not upon this highway. Not for this equine. You are lucky enough to be shipped down Unlucky Highway 95, your freedom bringer. It isn't much longer now, when the debris from other crashes begins to intervene with your path. The men in the truck attempt to regain control of the steadily untamable Ram. It is only moments later, you find yourself outside your metal cell, eyes wild as they watch the truck and trailer burst into flames that slowly make its way to the forest to your left. You can flee here, but you find it to dangerous. You look to your right, and all you see are mountainsides, to steep to climb with no crags for shelter. Your only option, is down, with the rest of the mountainscape. Gathering your bravery, your hooves launch you into a frenzied gallop, and you begin through the woods. Yet, your troubles to do not end here... As you pass the railing on the side of the highway, the blackness of the night engulfing its contentments, but now you can see... nothing. Your hooves rapidly churn the air, looking for something to grab hold to. Nothing. You fall, rolling down the nearly vertical wall, your bruised body crashing against trees and rocks, until you suddenly black out, and your body remains stationary....
IN THE LAND OF WITHERING TALES[/size]
As you reopen your eyes, your vision is blurry, you cannot make anything out. Your head throbs with pain, and a rather large knot has placed itself right under your right ear. Trying to stand, you find yourself to weak. Is it from lack of food and water from the humans? Was it the fall? Only you know... Attempting once more to look around you, you blink your eyes repeatedly, slowly forms around you gaining mass. This is when you notice... There is another. A palomino stud is standing not to far off, and seems to have been here all night. The stallion is halflinger in breed, and appears to have been wild for sometime. Are you drawn to him by your mare-like desires? Or do you find him a threat, for he is another stallion? Either one you pick, you mutter, "Where am I?" The stallion seems shocked by your sudden verse, and walks up to you, assisting you in standing. He replies, "You aren't from around here are you? By your bruises, I had guessed you were from Man's world." Having not answered your question, you grow more frustrated as it is painful to stand, and the heat beaming from the sun is causing your sticky body to sweat. This stud realizes your irritability, and continues, “Why, you are in the lands in which Ferdinand the Light and Nathanial the Dark made dispute and fell, where their alliances to this day fight for their loyalties. You are, in the land of Withering Tales." Finishing, the stallion nods his head to you and asks if you need any further help. You brush him off, and he kindly says farewell, then retires deeper into the belly of the forest.
The journey is here, and the locals and new comers are waiting.
