The Blood Priest. - - - RATH mustang SMITH "Promise to hold you close and pray. Watching the fantasies decay. Nothing will ever stay the same."
&. ALIAS: Musty, Tang.
&. AGE: Twenty three.
&. GENDER: Male.
&. SEXUALITY: Homosexual.
&. STATUS: Single.
☆ Brave; fearless is not a synonym. Rath feels fear like any other normal being would, but he rations his breaths and steps past it with the facility that accompanies having trained oneself to do it. ☆ Instincts; if you're up to no good, he'll sift through it. Rath is far from dense, and since he loves with his whole heart, he's got to be able to read between the lines to protect his weakness. ☆ Appreciative; he will be the first to thank you if you're genuine, and believes strongly that one good turn deserves another. Fair is fair, as long as he isn't competing. ☆ Honest; though his morals are hanging by a thread, he is still a terrible liar and... well, he'd rather do well at being honest than fail at lying. ☆ Competitive; and viciously so. He will do what he must to fulfill his mission, and the other six summoners can go to hell.
★ World-Weary; even in a dimension full of magic, power is rarely associated with the good, and authenticity is hard to come by. This brings Rath down, sparking bouts of lethargy and despondency. ★ Reliant; since he doesn't have a good offense, he needs either his revolver or his spirit to do the fighting for him. It pisses him off to no end that he hasn't yet mastered smiting, but he is grateful for the stamina of his mana. ★ Headstrong; he can adapt well, he just doesn't want to. Don't make him. Go away. ★ Emotional; once you're able to stir a reaction out of him, it is volatile. It often causes him to be hasty, rushing into a situation without thinking it through clearly. It's much better to be level-headed, but Rath can't help his flaws. ★ Self Sacrificing; this goes hand-in-hand with his emotional qualities. Rath can come to at terrible peace within himself and do things he'd never wanted done all to meet a certain end. For his spirit, he would - without a doubt - open his veins to fuel his Last Stand spell if there isn't enough blood or pain in the battlefield.
✓ Faith; in a religious sense. Rath appeals to the 'gods' (none in particular) to aid him in battle. ✓ Winning; it feeds Rath's violent competitive streak. ✓ Teamwork; "two is better than one". It is Rath's belief that, in order to win, you need to work together. This is especially true when you're a healer, and you can't sufficiently fight for yourself. ✓ Respect; Rath has a hero-complex. He wants to be looked up to one day, and he doesn't want to be the shadow behind his spirit straight out of the hall of heroes. Not that he's anything of a role model. ✓ Ukes; well, it was going to come up eventually.
✕ Elitists; don't impose your beliefs on Rath. He doesn't want to hear it. If you're as good as you boast, he believes you should be busy proving it and shut the fuck up. ✕ Dishonesty; he has no patience for liars. ✕ Losing; even second place isn't good enough. ✕ Helplessness; for Rath, the last option is still an option, and he'll do whatever it takes to apply himself. He doesn't appreciate the role of power being shifted between himself and his spirit, either. He wants to always be in control. ✕ Verbal fights; waste of time.
♡ Doesn't want to lose his spirit after the Holy Grail Wars (-Assuming that they win. Which he does.) ♡ Always wanted a shifter/halfling as a pet. ♡ Wishes he were worthy of being called a hero.
» Long-Barreled Revolver; it's not anything pretty. Just your run-of-the-mill revolver. » Bullets; lol.
- Spirit Class: Saber
- Heroic Spirit: Justice
- Magical Knowledge: Average
- Magical Energy: Greater
- Miscellaneous Talents: Lesser
Combat Style: Due to the fact that Rath's powers are largely defensive and protective, the combat style he imposes on his spirit is that of an all out offensive. They must work as a team, after all - his spirit is his fighter, he is it's healer. He must be around to keep a sharp eye on the next moves of their opponents to properly time and carry out blessings and shields. For example, Rath may catch an opening for his spirit to land a terrible blow, and will bless them with a momentary increase of power/accuracy/whatever he deems fit. Likewise, he may lay down a shield if he thinks his spirit is in over their head. However, he is not going to be caught off guard. He is well aware of the nature of most power-seeking summoners: dirty, sneaky, and blood-thirsty. Therefore, he fights fire with fire. Summoners are fair game through and through.
Noble Phantasm: Last Stand; Blood from the field and white-hot pain felt by allies (himself or his spirit, essentially) creates a large, sweeping barrier around himself and his spirit. All else who are in it's area of effect are forcibly expelled with the expansion of the luminous red walls, and those within the barrier are blessed with 'Last Stand' - a byproduct of the barrier which increases the stats of it's target tenfold. Rath uses this time to fully heal his spirit if he has the strength to.
Magic Usage: Divine; Rath's magic isn't the explosive, offensive magic that most possess. Instead, he has traded warlike prowess for the skills one would suspect belonging to a healer - blessings, shields, and restoration. It's a way of leveling the playing field, so to speak; he has the power to nullify the effects of other's magic by protecting himself from it, and when necessary, heal himself and his spirit of their ailments. Blessings are capable of momentarily upping the stats of those he bestows it upon, and he has the power to create and disperse impenetrable shields when needed. These, like everything, come with a price. He cannot hold up his forces for very long, /no/ one can land a blow past his shield (not even his allies). Often shields are thrown up one after another, and preventive healing throughout a battle is choice.
