Yue too had a few things lingering on her to do list but she didn’t want to be like them. She wanted to do things her way. To be different from the rest was better than being normal and being exactly the same as them. No, this free spirited female wanted nothing to weigh her down. The only person who should pin anything down was her. Yue had only one life and with it she wanted to create a master piece. With the skills she had she wanted to shape her future. She didn’t want those lingering problems to stop her from making it happen. So it was no wonder she kept to herself, had no boyfriend, and did what was needed so no one would nag her.
At the age fourteen she always stopped by the cemetery to work in silence. Whether it was to do homework, work on her ballet routine, or to get away from everything she always came here to relax. Yue also started her personal garden here. She was taught to respect the dead and she did just that. On several occasions she brought and planted a few red roses. And although she didn’t know any of these people, she felt obligated to do something nice for them. Or at least that’s how she would have liked if she was dead. She wouldn’t want someone to come to her grave and destroy it. But it’s been a long time since she came by. Most of the roses had died or withered. These past few days was spent on working on her ballet performance. Her parents were pleased when someone asked her to play a big leading role. Of course Yue couldn’t say no. Not that she would have said no anyway. To her dancing was an important part of her life. It was kind of like a drug. Without it she would be consumed by its addictiveness and die without it. Like that would actually occur but not dancing meant being ordinary and plain.
When Yue thought of the waltz or ballet it reminded her of water. When you danced you had to follow a pattern. Water was somewhat the same way. The way it flowed was simply amazing. Water could take on any form. It had no shape so it was easy. If you think of water being poured into a cup, what do you see? Well, imagine it for a while. As its being poured the water instantly enters and takes shape of the item it’s being poured into. Dancing, yes people couldn’t transform into a certain object unless they had powers, but with dance you can twirl, and move the way you want to. You can express your feelings through dancing. It was like drawing something on paper. Besides dancing was another form of art.
Today was another day where Yue needed to be alone and concentrate. Her family members were making too much noise for her mind to be at ease so she came here. It’s been years since she stopped by. She felt a little depressed when she noticed the flowers she planted were dying. Without her care they all seemed to perish. Flowers needed love as do humans. They say that if you compliment a flower it’ll bloom into something wonderful. Now if you criticize it, it’ll wither and die. It’s interesting to see that flowers too had the ability to listen.
Yue paced back and forth. She tried to calm her nerves. For some particular reason she felt this annoying feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was butterflies. No, not the kind that had wings and fly but the metaphorical kind. You know the feeling, the kind of which made you feel all giddy, nervous and the feeling of wanting to throw up. It was that kind of feeling. Yue hated that feeling. No matter how many times she practiced or performed in front a large group of people, she never got over the nervousness. Then again even the masters felt this as well. "Ugh.." Yue crossed her arms and sighed. Her whole body shook so she could shake what she was currently feeling. Stay calm. Take a deep breath and let go. She did just that. Yue took a deep breath. Inhaling the good and exhaling the bad. She felt somewhat at ease after she did this.
The blonde, blue eyed female began to dance. In her head played a very soft piano tune which was going to be used when she had to go up stage. Closing her eyes she imagined many people sitting down in their seats. Her father, mother, cousins, and other relatives would sit in the front. As for Yue she imagined her outfit she had to wear that day. It would a white tutu with white matching shoes. Her long blonde hair would remain by her shoulders. There would be a sheer white bow tied across her neck and dangling was the gold necklace she always wore. As if a puppet, Yue would continue dancing until the music stopped. As she imagined she could actually hear the music pounding in her ears. Everything around her, the cemetery and the graves were no longer a part of the world which she now created. She was now alone in her fantasy paradise.
As this was happening the young gal didn’t know there was a grave already made. Maybe someone died a vampire perhaps? Who knows but someone or something dug out a grave. With Yue so focused on her dancing, she didn’t know she was headed for trouble. Behind her was that dug out grave. Another step and she would fall in. It happened in slow motion. Her movements were calculated and fluid. Each step was graceful. As she twirled herself around, Yue’s right foot landed on the loose muddy edge. The edge started to collapse and she came tumbling down. Well almost if she didn’t catch the branch in time. Shit! Phew that was a close one. Her eyes wandered down. She looked at what was below. No light. Everything was pitch dark. She couldn’t see a thing. It felt awkward and so eerie she wanted to pull herself back up and run back home. She looked back up and noticed it was beginning to get dark soon. Time sure flew fast when you were having fun or when you didn’t constantly look at you watch.
Yue tired one last time to pull herself up but couldn’t. She didn’t have the strength to. The earth’s gravity was really weighing her down. With only her right hand holding herself up her arm began to tire out. It was beginning to get numb and just like that her fingers accidentally let go of the branch. "No...!" She gasped. Slowly Yue fell back as her fragile human body hit against the hard ground. She would have got back up if it wasn’t for the large rock behind her head. The impact of the fall made her fall in and out of consciousness.
Yue’s eyes opened but then they immediately closed shut. The tears automatically ran down her cheeks. Is it over? Is it finally the end? Will I be able to see my family again?
