Like a dream, I close my eyes and think about that day Two people laughing as the wind embraced them ----------------------------------- It was midday, a little after the time period where one would engorge themselves with more food to provide adequate energy to last them the rest of the day. It was around this time that a crimson-haired male decided on a nice stroll around the city, eye wandering around while taking in the splendor that he had never witnessed before, the new city which was turn capital after the many years he had personally fought. Besides it being his own wish to go out and try experience the current world for what it was, it was a necessity for him to understand how the current world works, building experiences that way he would not be too enthralled by its splendor during instances he would fight against another. It was a moment of self study, with him trying to adjust to the surroundings like creating a mental map in his head so he can easily get around. As long as he did not wander too far away from his mistress, then everything would be fine as it was, and he could freely do as he wish until an emergency would come up which warranted his immediate return. It was nice being able to walk around without too much restraint, the servant getting tired of staying as a mere ‘invisible spirit’ towards those oblivious of his existence.
Everything was like a very long dream, those endless battle he had in the passed just like a fleeting memory that no ceases to exist except through books and other forms of media. As soon as he stepped into the real world once again, he could already see everything as it had turned out since his fall, realizing just how different the world was now after hundreds of years of undergoing industrialization and globalization. The world was truly a much vaster place than how he originally knew it, and with all these changes, it was truly difficult for one coming from the past to adapt to everything at once.
Steel carriages drawn not by the power of horses but of machinery; towering buildings that reach towards the heavens much higher than any castle fortress he had raided; people roaming to and fro from one place to another with a casual atmosphere going about them rather than one of fear, anger and strife. It was a world he had never thought he would ever witness in his lifetime, yet there he was regardless, as if he had awaken from a coma for many years and is trying to reinstate himself back into society. Even though this itself is like a mere dream for him, he can only indulge himself in this ephemeral memory. When everything was all over, he would perhaps forget all of this ever happened, once again falling into a deep sleep ‘til the next time he is chosen to descend.
It was at his current location that he would finally decide to take a breather, the seemingly endless walking needing to come to an end since he was still partially human with some limits on his stamina. As much as he wanted to continue, he knew he needed to stop for a brief moment and maybe enjoy the scenery about him now. It was no surprise he would choose that place since it was one of those parks everyone would frequent when to urge to relax amongst nature overcame them, while he was being reminded of some of the gardens that castles would have within their walls. Even though it was not yet the season for the sakura to take bloom, the place still remained beautiful in his eyes, a land worthy enough for him to rest upon. When places like this one were open to the public, why hesitate? …or so his logic stated.
Following the narrow roadways created for people to follow during strolls and jogs, his focus now was a good place to relax himself at, hoping to find a simple area which bore a decent view. His footsteps did most of the leading, not really think too much on where to go; instead, letting his instincts control him in hopes of finding that one ideal spot. ‘To follow wherever the wind would take him’ so how some people would describe it, though the phrase was more suitable to describe the ronins and wanderers of his time. His searching would not take too long as he merely followed the so called wind to where it blew best, eventually finding that one spot he thought was perfect at first glance. It was a small plaza like area on a cliff, and place where people can overlook a certain part of the city by standing against the rail-protected edge. He did exactly that, hands rested upon the iron bars while his eyes took in one of the most amazing scenes to witness since he had arrived in the world. As a gentle breeze flow through the strands of his crimson tresses, only two words came to mind as a smile curled on his lips: simply amazing. ----------------------------------- Like a dream, shine eternally in my heart I'm still the same as the days I've spent with you

‘Ack! Late, late, late!’
A whoosh of wind entered the surrounding area, and nothing but a blur could have given any indication that there was once a human there. A blur of white and sky blue, to be precise. The young girl always wore the same thing – no, rather, the same color scheme – whenever she went out. Whether it was a subconscious decision or something she knew that she had some relative control over, she didn’t know. But one could understand her affinity to white – after all, it was only natural for someone of her powers to feel some magnetism over such a holy color. But to the blue, there was no clear explanation, except perhaps that is showed the girl’s inner desire: the desire for peace and tranquility in both this world and the magical world. Today, she had savoured a simplistic white top with frills around the collar, hugging her neck like pallid flower petals, together with some blue jeans that sparkled in some lights. To complete the ensemble, she had worn white boots lined with a teal color, which were no clacking against the pavement as she continued to zip across the wide expanse of space, never minding the stares that people around were giving her.
The girl’s name was Reverie Fuyuhana, a Magus who had later learned of her destiny: to be one of the great seven summoners in the quest for the Holy Grail, in a fight that would be better known as the Holy Grail War. She had been drafted into it rather unwillingly – and no, not the kicking and screaming psychotic kind – since she was a rather kind-hearted soul who didn’t particularly favour fighting, killing, or blood of any sorts. All in all, someone who was not fit out to be in a war. However, fate had chosen her somehow, and that must have meant something. That somehow, her dreams would be given the chance to rise up above all others, that she would be one of the few who would use the sacred object for good. After all, not all the summoners’ intentions were as “heroic” as hers – one could say – and she would try her best not to let it fall into those others’ hands. It looked to be a bleak future, but for the sake of everyone around her, and for the sake of granting Sabra’s wish, she would do it. She had to be strong, rather than be nothing but an enigma, always running the other way when faced with a battle. If she did so, the Grail would not see her as fit to touch it.
Speaking of which, where was Sabra? Sabra was also known as Nehayat, the Assassin spirit that she had summoned in the middle of literally nowhere. The spirit was rather independent, but somehow still inhumanly protective of the girl. It wasn’t unlike her to be off in a tree somewhere, being somewhat moody and secretive; it was something Reverie was quite used to. It was, however, unlike her to not be around the vicinity. The last time they had spoken, Sabra had harried the girl to give her permission to scout the surrounding area for enemies, as well as being able to gauge their surroundings to she could set her “traps” and whatnot. She had also assured the girl that she would never be too far away, to which Reverie trusted with her life. Well, that was fine. As long as Sabra was around and unharmed, all would be well in the world. After all, they were partners now, and would be in this until the end.
Huffing and puffing, the young girl was brought back to the present as her body ached and complained off the physical exertion. One might ask where she was going in such a rush. Simple, really, she had an appointment at school today, at three in the afternoon, and it was already two thirty. She’d woken up late and consequentially, had been in a rush from showering to putting her clothes in. It was lucky she hadn’t forgotten her underwear really. Now she was scurrying across the park, not particularly paying any acute attention to where she was going, despite having the knowledge that this was one of the most scenic places in all of Tokyo. This was the place where one could get the best view, and if one was a fan of it, lounging about in park benches and eating ice cream. It would be quite wise in temperatures like today. Oh well, now time for that right now. She couldn’t be late again.
A lightly tanned backpack bounced back and forth against her back, emitting a low sound as the pink-haired girl continued to sprint across the park the best she could, seeing as how she was never had any prowess being a runner or anything that required physical exertion. It was because of her one-sightedness that she’d somehow wandered over to the railings, and had her foot catch on one of the metal frames. She hadn’t realized she’d wandered on to a higher part of the plaza, something she only just regretted as the force of skin to metal contact sent her sprawling forward, and straight over the iron rails to the cliffs below. Her eyes widened, and with only a split second to react, she screamed, and in her head, she spoke ‘Sabra! Help me!’. And then she could do nothing but close her eyes as she waited for her imminent doom.

Like a dream, I close my eyes and think about that day Two people laughing as the wind embraced them ----------------------------------- A sense of tranquility…that’s what he was feeling right now as he stood close to over the edge, overlooking a part of one of the grandest cities in all of Asia. It was a sight that he would have never seen in his lifetime, his eyes originally bearing witness to the cold realities of war and the results it may bring at the end of battles. And although he may like how the peaceful future Japan looked, a part of his soul still yearned for those old days of endless battles and seeking glory. There were just some people who could never get used to peace, especially when one has been fighting throughout most of their existence. The current Rider was still a man of that era, one who cannot easily settle even though peace was brought back to the land. He still indeed yearned for them, the sound of battle cries and war drums amongst the clashing of blades and screams of the fallen. It was truly like a haunting melody, but one he could never forget so easily as it continuously beckons him. A warrior will always be a warrior… – something he still thinks holds true even until now. It was a fate he could never escape.
That reality aside, that fact remained that he was no longer within that setting, bearing the usual armor and colors while riding out on bloodied, corpse-infested roads towards his enemies. It was all over, and now he was in a totally new place, one that arose hundreds of years later after a few more wars took place. Granted he still had another ‘war’ he needed to partake in, it just wasn’t the same as what he was truly used to. It was similar to a game of kakurenbo (hide and seek), only the players are not aware on who the others are until they actually find them. Even though his odds may decrease, it would have been nice if everyone would just get together and duke it out in a no-holds-bar, all-out war, even though war itself is like a waiting game to see which side shows signs of crumbling first before a full offensive is made. He knew this and its significance, but his patience was also being tried right now. He could feel it, the peace starting to dull his senses when he still felt rusty enough with his skills. Besides that battle with those men after his mistress, he has yet to truly experience what it was fighting against a fellow servant, unsure on just how difficult this war may prove to be over time. All he knew was of the prize waiting at the end, but to him, it held no significance. He had no wish to make at the end of this journey.
He heaved out a nice sigh from his lips, arms stretching upwards to relieve himself of some unwanted muscle stiffness on his back and arms. It was no surprise since he had been continuously standing all this time; rather, leaning himself upon the iron bars for support as he stared out towards the horizon. It was a good thing his white collared shirt only absorbed enough light, still able to keep himself cool in contrast to when using something darker. He managed to keep his clothing clean enough since he only really had very few mortal clothes to wear, many of which being borrowed goods from her family. Being a spirit, he had no real need to change since his real clothing was a part of him, yet it would be difficult fitting into society if he strolled out on the streets in his traditional garments, much more his armor. There was a ‘tradition’ that he heard and read about, one where people do dress up in rather bizarre and out of-this world attires. I think it was called ‘cosplay’. he thought to himself, not really understanding the modern world. In such sort time, he was forced to learn about many things, not that it was too much of trouble. He held some remote interest in these things, many of which never existed in his era.
It was about time he would decide to continue on now, not wanting to linger around too long in one place seeing as it may cause complications if his presence would be felt. Brushing the crimson strands back as he felt his bangs hindering his view a bit, he took a few steps backward before turning about face towards the direction he believed where the exit was. While turning, his eyes caught something pass him by for a split second, a mesh of what seemed to be light blue and pink flashing by. His eyes followed as if caught by the figure, eyes widening as he became witness to a potential accident about to happen. “Oi! Abunai (Look out)!” he exclaimed while rushing himself forward while one hand extending over to her. The scream she made echoed in the skies which caught the attention of some passer bys and loiterers, yet he did not waste any time to just watch like the rest of them. Be it due to his chivalrous nature or his will to not see a girl die on his stroll, he reacted in the best way he deemed possible. From a watchers perspective, it looked as if he stepped onto a bottom portion of the rails while trying to get some leverage, body extending over the bars as he attempted to grab hold of her, reaching for the closest limb he can to prevent her from having a nasty fall. ----------------------------------- Like a dream, shine eternally in my heart I'm still the same as the days I've spent with you

Death. That of which can be explained amongst a plethora of things – dark and evil, joyful and light, or a mix between the two. It can be described as an endless, vast void that caters to the needs of the afterlife, a place where no life amongst life exists. It can be described as a fiery, demonic hell, upon which Satan resides, his evil eyes glazed with maniacal hunger as the King himself seats on the throne of everlasting despair. Or it can be described as tranquil haven for the souls who are truly at peace, seated among pillows of virgin fluff, amidst where cherubim and seraphim wander, their heavenly choruses pleasing and gentling to all who hear it. Maybe, then, just maybe, it may not even be under one of these “categories” – it may be a combination of both, yin-and-yang, if you must, or perhaps, none at all. It may just be a void where the dead reside, an abode to which all spirits feel rested and welcome. Alas, one can never really grasp its likelihood, as seeking this place called Death guarantees a one-way trip; there is no going back. However, despite its far from alluring fables and myths, it is always one thing: peaceful. But the way there never is.
The rush of the wind against her face was all she could register before Reverie had somehow tangled herself into one of the railings that stood atop the cliff. The next thing she knew, the forces of gravity had overcome her, and the blue sky was nothing but a blur against her equally cerulean eyes. There was absolutely to guaranteed ground, as the angle at which she had fallen predicted so. No, all that was left to do was tumble down this place, all the way to the bottom, and to her death.
They say that one’s life flashes before their eyes on the verge of imminent death, but Reverie could see no such thing. All that had entered her mind was that she was sorry that she was going to burden her parents for her death; that she was going to be late to school; that she never got to meet Yuril again; that Sabra would have no master, and would most likely disappear herself. These thoughts brought tears to hers eyes, sad ones that would soon also be lost into the abyss once she had been successfully removed from this earth. It was just too bad that she didn’t have the opportunity for a long life, and there were so many other things she wished she could do before dying. Twenty was too young an age, in her opinion, but if fate wished to collect her right now, she would rescind, for she was nothing against the powers of the gods. All she had left in her was doubt and regret, wishing that, even despite the odds, she would not die. She had to accomplish her goal of the Holy Grail, after all, and have Sabra’s wish granted as well. It was not very fruitful to die like this, not only when it had just began.
Suddenly, Reverie felt something stable gripping her arm, and her eyes shot open in surprise. Looking around wildly, the panic not having fully faded from her mind, she was shocked to see another person – a male specifically – having taken a hold on her arm. The expression on her face was frozen in shock, surprise, and sadness (having been left over from crying), and she did nothing else for a few seconds but stare at her apparent saviour. It took a good few seconds for the adrenaline rush to finally settle and clear her head. With her other hand, she struggled to grab onto a railing and pull herself up using her arms as leverage. It took a bit of effort, but it wasn’t long before she had thrown herself back on the opposite side of the railing, gasping and shuddering for air as she rolled on over to her, the expression of having been near-death frozen on her face.
The thoughts whirled around her head – why didn’t I die? what would have happened if did? would anyone have missed me? and who was that who saved me? did I know him? did he know me? – and they were all she could focus on despite the anxious glances of passersby. One particular blonde female had the courage to lift the upper part of her torso up, while the rest of her legs stayed stabilized on the floor. ‘Are you alright, dearie?’ Reverie could only nod, not completely over the shock yet. She managed a low “Y-yes, I’m fine.” The female nodded and carefully looked around, spotting the male that had enough agility to reach over the railing at the right time and called him over. ‘You, you saved her life. That was very brave of you. I’ll entrust her to your care, then?’
As the woman spoke, Reverie groaned and lifted her eyes to see the red-headed male. She stared at him for a good few seconds, before coming to the start that he had saved her life. Bolting upright – and causing the world to spin madly, by the way, enunciated by the groan that escaped her lips – and into a sitting position, she looked over to the man, and her voice came out shaky. “A-ah, thank you so much, mister. I... I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t there... I mean... I would have died but... that’s beside the point. Thank you, thank you.” She gave a low bow as a sign of respect and gratitude towards the total stranger. Well, not so much a stranger as he had just saved her life.

Like a dream, I close my eyes and think about that day Two people laughing as the wind embraced them ----------------------------------- Certain events sure do play out at the strangest of times for better or for worse, in this case, better for the person that had nearly fallen to her doom. Whether or not it were mere coincidence that he was there when it happened, it was obviously a good thing that he was around and close by when it did. People were always lucky when he was around o help, for his honor code dictated that he always act when he sees a person in danger, especially of an innocent. Little did he realize that it might have been better if he did not save that particular person, yet it would require him breaking a code he always followed. Still, how things turned out this way was certainly a strange twist of fate of things to eventually come, one which may turn into a liability in the future. What he doesn’t know yet won’t hurt him at the moment, for now the young lady’s safety bearing more importance. He was determined to save her, in spite of the repercussions that may happen later on in his life.
It was perhaps by mere luck that he was able to grab hold of her hand before she fell any deeper, hand gripping as tightly as he could so she would not slip from his grasp. Even though he was risking himself as well from being pulled down, he struggled to keep his footing stable to avoid become a casualty as well, placing the rest of his strength to help her back up onto solid ground. It wasn’t that difficult though, for instead of panicking, she managed to be level-headed enough to help herself as he pulled, making it all the more easier for the rescue to be a success. As she rolled back onto the ground, he releases her before resting his back onto the railing, gasping for some air as his body’s parasympathetic nervous system response kicks in to bring his body back to its normal state. With the suddenly rise of adrenalin, it sure tired him out more than merely walking around, the male feeling the need to rest up a bit longer rather than heading back to where his lady was. He was probably risking getting scolded from being out too long, but he’ll bear with it.
“It was…nothing…Leave it to me,” he said in between breaths towards the lady that approached them, actually feeling good for doing such a heroic deed. He would not be called a ‘heroic spirit’ for nothing, but that a totally irrelevant subject at the moment. He couldn’t understand why others did not try helping though, most be being spectators as if watching something amusing. It annoyed him a little, wondering where all the virtues of courage and honor have gone in today’s society. The Japanese people were much braver in his time, yet he has noticed peace itself has dulled the current generation. It was a sad reality, but one that might have been expected since there no longer was any more need to fight. Even though wars were still being raged at times, battles were so much more easily with the advent of ‘guns’, weapons which already existed in his time, and he loathed despite their effectiveness. He rested his right hand on his face as he tried to get those thoughts out of his head, not wanting to go into a reminiscent mode about how things used to be.
Using the rail as support, he helped himself stand in a straighter posture, still feeling a small sense of fatigue over him. It felt like he was rather out of shape, amazed that merely trying to save someone took quite an amount of energy from him when normally it would be not much of a problem. It was an aftereffect for not fighting for a long while, the male not really used to doing sudden actions out of impulse without wearing himself out to an extent. He tried to compose himself appropriately though, not wanting to make himself seem weaker than he really was, even though he was currently pretending to be just any normal guy one would see on the streets. He looked over at the girl now, seeing that she seemed to be unharmed as she was able to get right on her feet after just a few seconds, yet again falling back down to seat herself upon the floor underneath her. She was rather peculiar really, but she did show how grateful she was for saving her, the male rubbing his neck out of embarrassment a bit since she was bowing towards him, drawing some attention from the people there.
Without hesitation, he extended one hand towards her, gesturing to help her back on her feet since it seemed like she was having trouble getting up. “We should at least get you seated somewhere else. You’re not hurt are you?” he spoke out in a normal tone, eyes look over at her while trying to be as open as possible. He still was unsure about her status, but wondering if she may have sustained an injury of sorts from that experience. For now it was best that they both rest up somewhere, tending to any damages while recuperating some energy lost. He did learn something from that experience: anything can happen in a seemingly uneventful day. The world truly was something unpredictable, and he was glad for a moment that he could experience even if it was only temporary. ----------------------------------- Like a dream, shine eternally in my heart I'm still the same as the days I've spent with you

Was it just luck, or was it fate? Would she have really died here, in the middle of a crowded area in a not-so-special day on her way to nowhere special, school nonetheless, if it hadn’t been for the mysterious stranger that just happened to be close enough to pull her up? It was as if the gods were laughing at her right now, toying with her emotions in a near-death scenario, to which she wasn’t particularly pleased. Death was no joke, as she’d very nearly experienced just a few – was it seconds? – ago. But somewhere up there, there must have been an angel that granted her mercy, allowing her to live. Thank the heavens for that.
Reverie blinked, pale eyelids caressing her blue eyes which, if one looked deep enough, were seas that went on infinitely, forever placid and calm in the girls’ possession. The woman herself had brown eyes, and was looking down at her with careful concern, with a tinge of pity. She instantly felt something like remorse; why did she have to end up bringing other people into her mess, too? It was enough that someone had saved her and would have almost fallen over the cliff himself if it wasn’t for her, but now she had to attract innocent passerby? No, she couldn’t have that. This woman probably had better things to do with her time than tend to an extremely clumsy twenty-year-old such as herself. Plus, the gazes she was warranting from others weren’t exactly pleasing, to say the least. It was rather awkward.
Squirming in the woman’s arms, the lanky girl pulled herself into an upright position, despite the woman’s protests. “Really, rest young lady. It isn’t good for you to be up right now, especially with what you just experienced.” She gave her a definite stare – not a cold one, but a sturdy one, one that said she was perfectly capable of knowing what her body’s limits were, and this was not it. So she was a little shaken, but she did not appreciate being treated like a baby, not when more people deserved more time of day than she did. “Ma’am, I’m fine, really. Thank you for your concern, but I can manage.” She felt a twinge of guilt; she didn’t mean to sound rude, but it didn’t look like the woman was letting her go anytime. But, at least it had the desired effects. The woman still look dubious, but convinced enough to hand over care of her to the other man.
The man, the red-haired male that had saved Reverie from sheer death. He was headed her way, an embarrassed look on his face. It made her giggle. Looked like she wasn’t the only center of attention here, after all. He held out his hand, which she took gingerly as she propped herself upright to a standing position. It was better; she wobbled a bit, but at least she didn’t have the urge to throw up or hurl anywhere. She smiled at him, completely awed by his past – and still continuing – heroic attempts, almost as though it was completely natural to him. “A-ah, yes, I’m fine. Thank you so much, mister, I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t there.” Well, she would have died, but that was a fact she really didn’t want to relive. “Um, I guess we can go to that bench over there.” As they walked over to the spot a little north to where they were, she asked, “Mm, I think it would be better if I knew the name of my saviour, neh? My name’s Reverie, but you can call me Rev.” She knew it wasn’t wise to give out your name to a total stranger, but somehow, she felt connected to him somehow. It was a faint feeling of connectedness, as though he was someone vaguely familiar...
Reverie gasped, realizing that she had been staring at him a little too rudely. Waving her hand in embarrassment, trying to alleviate the situation’s awkwardness, she abruptly stood up, causing her to once more wobble if for a second. “And to repay you, how’s about I get you some ice cream?” Her first priority right now was repaying the debt, and what better way to do that than some cold treats? Sure, she would be late to school for now, but oh, well. She’d have to find an excuse later.

Like a dream, I close my eyes and think about that day Two people laughing as the wind embraced them ----------------------------------- This…is rather awkward… so he believed with that hand of his outstretched, a little uncertain if he was really doing the right thing now. The gazes of the onlookers were certainly unsettling, giving strange vibes like when one would feel as if someone was stalking them. The feeling just really was not pleasant at all, wishing those people would just go back to doing what they were originally working on; instead of, looking at people who were currently recuperating from a potential life-threatening accident. Thank the heavens indeed for him sticking around long enough to prevent such a situation, even more so for not being dragged in and sustaining injuries. Who knows what his mistress would say if she saw him a little battered up because he wanted to try saving a life. As good as his intentions are, he was supposed to conserve his energy for the coming battles ahead, and not get into any situations that could cause harm to their goals. Still, that does not change the fact that he could never turn his eyes away from something he knew he could help at, not standing to act like everyone else in the background. After all, witnessing death was just as bad, if not worse, as dying.
The pink haired woman was a little more stable now, the lady from earlier still trying to check on her status as well like a good fellowman should. It was nice that he was not the only one putting an effort into the matter, making him believe that all was not yet lost. If only the other people there were just as caring as her. As for the person saved, her voice carried a certain tone in it, thankful yet rather hesitant to let the lady help any more than she already has. Such a reaction was rather understandable though, the male knowing what it was like feel both indebted yet embarrassed for being saved from a situation one had caused themselves. Of course, he was rather brash and careless back then too, not that any of that has changed much. He was still impulsive; otherwise, he would have no acted right away to save that young lady. It was indeed one of those rare case where having such a trait was not really a liability, when it was in most cases. Still, maybe next time this would not be the case, reversing back to being a trait that would cause his very downfall.
It wasn’t to long until she took him hand, he male holding it with a light grip then earlier while helping her on her two feet. “Don’t mention it,” he said as she continued to thank him again, not really used to hearing it one too many times in a short period of time. In his eye, he did not really do anything special to be thanked so much for…Okay maybe he did, but he did not have to hear words of thanks that many times. He just thought he was doing what any normal person should do, not realizing that the concepts of chivalry was more or less dead by now, if not followed by a handful of people. He walked with her for a bit, over towards the closest bench she pointed out towards since it was really the only place they can take a breather. With the previous scene already over, the useless spectators started resuming their lives seeing the spectacle was now over and done with, removing some tension the crimson-haired male was feeling earlier from their stares. His attention was on the girl now, listening on as she introduced herself to him. Reberi? was what he understood, not really knowing on how to pronounce foreign sounding names. It was hard enough getting his mistress’ name right, now there was another with a more unique name. Thankfully, she shortened it for him.
“Nice to meet you, Rebu-san,” he said whilst failing to even say the nickname appropriately, “I am…” A short pause ensued, the male remembering a specific rule that he was supposed to follow as a participant in the Holy Grail War. His name was something he just could not give to anyone, much less his class type as it was not a typical name. He thought about it for a few moments, unsure on what might be a good alias to go by just to be on the safe side. “Ri-“ he muttered, a good name suddenly flashing in his mind as if a light bulb lit over his head, yet before he could say it, the young lady darted up off the bench, suddenly uttering something about treating him to ice cream. He blinked a bit before nodding his head, the gesture sounding nice since it sounded good to him. Still…
What in the world is this ‘aisu curiimu’ anyway? ----------------------------------- Like a dream, shine eternally in my heart I'm still the same as the days I've spent with you

Attention had never been something she wished for herself. If anything, she loathed it. She hates all those eyes staring at her, some accusing, some proud, while others... well, she didn’t know what they were thinking. It was just annoying to have so many people judge her all at once, and most – at least she thought – were negative feedbacks. She didn’t like the way eyes seemed to probe into her very being, as though trying to discern what she was thinking. This was why even in school, the girl rarely had any friends, for she was too shy herself to go out and get some. Usually, someone would approach her every now and again, but a majority of them would be turned off by her muteness and go elsewhere. Rarely did anyone stick around for just a bit longer and get to know her, which was really their loss for this girl was truly a nice person and a loyal friend given the chance – which most people did not. She was also very used to this process, so being the center of attention right now... ah, it just didn’t feel too pleasing. It was best that she scurry off now and go elsewhere. Luckily, at least, it seemed that most people had lost interest and starting moving around again. Whew.
Reverie accompanied the man to a bench, where for a while she studied the man’s features, careful not to make it look like she was staring. Crimson hair that framed his face, with bangs that fell into his eyes, the man was rather good-looking. His dark-coloured eyes accentuated his hair greatly, and his face had a somewhat heart-shape to it. As she studied him, she wondered how he could have saved her. It seemed like everything was so sudden, that even she herself had not realized that she was falling until, well, until she saw the ground way beneath her. Yet, he, a mere spectator, was able to grab onto her so quickly. It made her wonder what sort of inhumane reflexes this guy had, or maybe, just maybe, it was her imagination. She had always believed herself to be a rather slow person, after all, so being rather quick to judgement wasn’t her style. Oh well. He seemed normal enough, and he didn’t exactly exude the aura of a mage, although he was familiar... somewhat. But why exactly, she didn’t know. She couldn’t place her finger on it.
The girl giggled as the man said her name wrong. It wasn’t that hard of a name, so how could be still get it wrong? Still, although it was hilarious, there was something endearing about his mistake, almost like a naive young man’s mistake. “No, silly, it’s Rev, not Reb. But it’s ok, it’s ok, you’ll get it right!”. Reverie couldn’t remember the last time she felt so giddy like this, so why now? Was it because of the possibility of making a new friend, or perhaps it was the adrenaline rush from a while ago getting to her head? Well, it didn’t matter either way, it was fine.
She jumped up suddenly, finally finding a way to show her gratitude, no matter how minute of an attempt it was. Grabbing his hand, she pulled him over to the nearest ice cream stand. She ordered two cones for them, one chocolate (for him, since everyone loved chocolate) and a pink strawberry for herself. She handed one to him, a smile on her face. “Here you go! And don’t worry about the price, it’s the least I could do!” After a bit, she started walking forward again, not really minding where she was going. She had recovered, and she didn’t like staying in this park for too long because some people were still mindlessly staring at her every now and again. “Oh, that’s reminds me. You never did tell me your name. Hm... what is it again?”

Like a dream, I close my eyes and think about that day Two people laughing as the wind embraced them ----------------------------------- It the whole surroundings normalizing now, it felt rather relieving that the pressure he was feeling from the stares had faded away. It was like a burden was lifted off his shoulders finally, the male able to breath and move around without feeling a sort of weighty restraint on him. Still, it was even better that he was finally seated on a bench now able to rest his back and leg especially after the suddenly movements he did earlier. In a sense, it certainly made him realize that he was still out of shape, knowing that he might want to spend some time exercising more if he wanted to avoid hurting himself in the future. Considering he’ll be doing more than rushing to the aid of damsels falling off a ledge, he needed to make sure he would be fit for anything. Of course, maybe this was actually a sign of very old age, the male originally dead whilst passing away at the age of forty-eight. He was supposed to be at his prime, yet perhaps some things still carried over from his much older self.
With him more occupied in catching his breath a little, he never realized his companion was eyeing him a little, as if studying his character and profile whilst he was looking away. Not that he did not do the same, the spirit doing his observations much earlier after he had helped her back on land. The young lady hair was somewhat unnatural in color, much lighter than his blazing-red hair yet not so much on the color of pink. She was also rather young, but not so much as compared to his current form. In fact, she was perhaps the same age of his summoner if not with about a years gap between them in age. Not like a year was a big different in the first place. Based on how she spoke, she was rather friendly since she also knew how to be grateful to others, not like certain people who push others away because of their pride. There was no doubt that she looked rather attractive, nothing that should be exaggerated, but still had enough looks for a guy to notice. What was notable was her personality, that kind and open air she had about her being something that drew him in more. That and something else he felt when he held her hand earlier, as if something similar with Juan. He brushed it off though, thinking it was not something important.
“S-Sorry,” he muttered as he tried to reflect a little. The male did feel a certain degree of embarrassment when he realized he pronounced her name wrong, yet it still sounded the same to him when he tried to think on how it was to be said. There was no ‘v’ in the Japanese alphabets anyway, often using the ‘b’ syllables for the said letter. She was rather encouraging though, even laughing off the matter when normally he knew people hated it when their names are not addressed correctly. Of course, people were not as casual back then either, an unwritten rule being that one is supposed to address strangers by their family name; unless, bearing a closer relationship with that person. However, there was no surname he could have her address him as since anything associated with his real name should be kept unknown to anyone he meets. Before he could try saying it again, she took him hand, dragging him up off the bench to head over to get that ‘aisu kuriimu’ she mentioned, the issue on his name also left out as they moved.
It was a short trip to where they had to go, enough for him to not complain about the trip. It was there that he would first encounter the treat, eye looking at different colors with certain writing indicating their flavor. He would not be able to choose what he wanted, a good move on her part really since he was not really sure which among them would be good to get. With it being her way to repay him as well, he could not stop her from paying his share, the male just holding the coned frozen delight in hand while staring into it for a moment. Seeing it melt a little, he tried to take a bit out off the soft cream, retracting back a bit as he felt then sudden coldness rush through the nerves of his teeth. His eyes widened a little as he still; managed to taste the food, a certain sweetness filling his mouth besides giving a chilling sensation that was rather comforting. Moving to get another taste, he paused when she reminded him about his name again, the male feeling embarrassed once more for forgetting to do that. “R-Rai,” he said, actually just cutting the name ‘Rider’ into something shorter, yet enough for it to sound like a normal name. ----------------------------------- Like a dream, shine eternally in my heart I'm still the same as the days I've spent with you
