OH GOD THEN YOU AWOKE you started screaming through the duct tape, don't ever think I'm letting you go The small city was not a prime place to snag some cash, but the only probable reason why the nekoboy had chosen such a place to pillage another's pocket was because the people were just too kind to notice anything. All Nikko had to do was walk down the street and keep an eye out for a seemingly loaded target, once a nicely dressed man came into view with his wallet obviously in one pocket, the crafty cat who's identity was hidden under a knit cap and jeans just needed to bump into the man, apologize and pretend to extend a helpful hand. All in the mean time, while his hand was extended in a kind helpful gesture, quickly reach into the pocket and snag the cash, leaving the wallet. It's easier to hide cash in one's hand then a whole leather stash.
Making his escape to Schwarzwald, where locals seem iffy of visiting, Nikko decided this enchanted gloomy forest. Tossing his cap and letting his tail sway freely behind him, he opened a clenched fist to reveal a nice little bundle of cash. "One hundred and seventy one euro... not bad." he said smirking to himself slyly, letting one side of his nicely thin lined lips curl slightly at the ends. "That means I get lunch today! ♥" rosy cheeks fluttered onto a creamy canvas at the thought of a warm meal, maybe soup or something good like that. Eating nothing but nuts, berries and some vegetables day in and day out tends to get tiring to a wary traveler, and a warm meal is always welcomed.
Venturing into thicker territory, where the dark foliage became thicker and almost obscuring his sharp vision, pricked ears on sharp alert for any sounds from any angle. This place is eerie, and if it wasn't for his sense to smell, Neku could have sworn he was being watched.

From his perch on a thick branch of one the Black Forest's many trees, Skye stared down at the stone slabs that marked the place where he'd first come to this realm. People said that this forest was like an ocean - once you entered, you had little hope of finding your way out if you ended up getting disoriented, but navigation was easy enough with wings. When he was in the area, he liked to come rest here. This was one of the few places were he could expect to relax without having to worry about running into humans.
Should he go back through the portal? What awaited at the place where the obsidian clearing would take him was a long journey back towards the halfling town he'd left a few months ago. He'd been wandering about this country for a while, but it hadn't necessarily been the way he'd expected it to - life wasn't easy for a halfing in this world.
Finishing the last bite of the stolen orange he was eating, he absently wiped stray, sticky juices off his chin and tossed down the peel. But...he'd come back to this realm for a reason - he didn't want to give up on this place yet.
Deciding to return to the village, Skye launched himself off the branch with a last glance behind himself at the portal, letting his wings catch the air. He gave a few powerful flaps as he felt his body shift higher, with the crisp, light breeze that rustled foliage swaying around him. That was another thing he liked about this forest. Normally, he had to wear a cloak and keep his wings folded in order to hide them - flying only led to trouble if anyone happened to catch a glimpse of him - leaving visits to places like this as the only way to stretch his wings. Enjoying himself, he flitted and weaved through the dense foliage, until the sound of a faint voice suddenly jolted him from his thoughts.
Was there someone here after all? He immediately tensed, instinctively letting his wings droop as he grabbed on to another branch. Pulling himself on top of it, he looked around urgently, hearing footsteps approaching now as well. No human had seen him, had they? The last thing he wanted was to cause another ruckus. Eventually, he realized that he could just see the shadow of an approaching figure coming his way, partially obscured from the foliage. He couldn't tell what kind of person it was, but he decided it would be best to hide his wings, just in case they caught sight of him up on the branch.
Trying to keep his balance, his grabbed the sleeved cloak he usually wore from where it was tied around his waist, attempting to put it back on. Before he could manage it, though, one of his feet slipped out from under him as he struggled with getting a sleeve over one his arms, sending him falling backwards off the branch.
"Ack!" He cried out, not managing to get his wings to work with the cloak halfway on despite his frantic struggling. He barely had time catch a blurred glimpse of the nearby figure before hitting the ground a few feet in front of it with an indignant thud and a mess of loss feathers.

OH GOD THEN YOU AWOKE you started screaming through the duct tape, don't ever think I'm letting you go one hand in his somewhat tight, flattering, dark blue jeans, and the other shoving the money away into the other pocket, Nikko was sure to keep his loot safe -- skies or no spies here in the woods. An ear twitched at the sound of beating not to far away, faint, but it was definitely a bird.. a large one to be making such a sound. Thinking little of it, the man continued not even bothering investigating what kind of avian it may be, it would just fly away anyways once it sensed cat on him. ".... Isn't there supposed to be some sort of trail here?" he asked empty minded, almost whispering to himself in a mere sigh as seeing nothing but dark green was beginning to get a little dull for his more exciting tastes. Not to mention it's closed in like feeling was a little claustrophobic, thank god the air was nice and that kept him from turning back to the village for some open space. But even claustrophobia could not dampen his good mood with this snatch, the thought of warm food was distracting enough to make even the most closed in spaces more enjoyable... he could even smell it, some sort of pastry, or was it a delusion... a citrus delusion that smelled almost too real, but incredibly delicious.
The sound of feathers distracted him once more, rustling and it was near by. He didn't stop in his tracks to try and see what was going on, not that he could with out getting close and scaring the thing anyways... waste. of. energy. But a thud did get him to hesitate on his last step and take a look over his shoulder, what he saw was definitely something to see, those wings seemed to glimmer the same hues of a crow, but clearly it wasn't nor one of their cousins the raven. It was way too large. Feathers fluttered before his eyes, of course catching his eye before he trailed back to the fallen angel. A slender appendage snaked behind him with a mind of it's own, it slithered to curl ever so slightly by his side. "Oh?" he spoke gently, letting a sly smirk sweep his facade.
"What do we have here?"

"Oww..." Skye complained, rubbing a tender spot on the side of his forehead as he sat halfway up. He grimaced. That hurt! Clumsy...luckily the fall hadn't been from terribly high, but he was sure he was going to be sore for a while now.
It was the sound of a voice that suddenly brought him back to reality, the halfing snapping his gaze straight up to find a person - the person he'd seen passing by before, he quickly realized - staring down at him. He felt an abrupt sense of panic at first, his heart thudding. He'd definitely been seen now. He instinctively tried to use the only halfway on cloak to cover his wings, just holding it up with the one with the arm that he'd never gotten into the sleeve, but he already knew that it was too late now. "I...I... Uh..." He sputtered in response, until his eyes suddenly widened.
As the form of the figure hovering over him started to register, he caught sight of a feline-like tail swirling to the person's side, and perky cat-like ears at the top of his head. He blinked, the panic in his eyes shifting to surprise. "Another...halfing...?" He breathed in almost disbelief, feeling his heartbeat starting to slow down a bit. Out of all the people who could've seen him here in the human realm, it was another halfling! He couldn't believe his luck. What had the chances of that been? Maybe it really was true that humans avoided this area.
Sitting up a bit straighter, he gave the other halfing a better looking over. It was an older boy, with striking feline features and blue hair. What was he doing here? Had he just come through the portal? Was he just returning to the other realm? Or was he simply trying to get away from humans for a bit, like him? Still, regardless of the reason, it was a relief. Relaxing his grip, he let the cloak go - there was no point in hiding his bird-like features from another halfing...even if it was a cat, he hoped.

OH GOD THEN YOU AWOKE you started screaming through the duct tape, don't ever think I'm letting you go
Who was this kid? Blinking a few times, the man started to wonder how long this kid was around, not that it mattered really, what's the worst he could do? Gently he caught one of the feathers and held it gently with his middle finger and thumb. He inspected the thing for a moment, then shot a glance back at it's previous owner who seemed to be struggling with hiding his 'secret' with some sort of coat like thing. He still couldn't get over it, wings, such a rare thing it was to encounter such an individual. Finding another like himself was difficult, but never has he actually seen one with such appendages, and this kid's were pitch black, coal like of the reaper himself. How charming. Though his wonder was cut as the child spoke further, and spoke of their title. Halfing, what a repulsive name, a title that desecrates all pride to those who live under it's cloak, the reason why his childhood was miserable. In response to that, was unconsciously angle his auds aback and narrow his gaze, putrid. But he understood, this feathery boy didn't mean to, and so he didn't intend on letting that ruin his good aura about cash for the day. "That's right." his smirk grew a little, apparently this kid was much more surprised about it then Nikko was, seriously the cat didn't think much of it. Yes it was nice seeing others of the same title as he, other felines were even better, but truthfully there was nothing 'special' or 'amazing' about it. To him at least.
Creeping a little closer, Nikko extended a hand to help the kid up, slight rustling in the foliage had indicated he had some more followers around, cats. He was a natural magnet for them, they usually tend to keep their distance until they loose interest. "May I ask what a young man like yourself is doing in such a place?" mid as well be polite right? He heard that there was a portal around here somewhere to the other side, but assuming could be troublesome, plus if the kid was that afraid of being found out, why would he be flying in this kind of area with that kind of wingspan.

Skye blinked momentarily as the cat-eared man made a distasteful face at his inquiry, but un-tensed again as he finally got an answer, noticing that the other halfling seemed to have relaxed a bit again. Of course. What else could someone with feline ears and a tail be? Still, his initial reaction had briefly struck him as odd.
Regardless, he took the extended hand as the older boy walked closer, pushing himself back up to his feet. He dusted himself off from the fall, brushing off a few twigs and leaves. His head still throbbed a bit, and now that he was standing, he felt a stinging in his left leg and right wing. Hopefully it wouldn't last long. He felt a tad embarrassed, though - falling clumsily from the treeline probably wasn't the best first impression a bird half-breed could make.
He looked back up as the other halfing spoke once more. "Err...I was just..." He paused, trying partially to answer the question himself. What was he doing here? "I got tired of being around humans, so I decided to come back here for while, so I wouldn't have to be so careful. My wings were starting to ache from being folded under the cloak for so long. I didn't expect to find anyone..." He absently glanced back in the direction of the portal, though it was much to far away to see now. "I was thinking about going back, but..." He'd been feeling disheartened today - unusual, for him. Maybe he would've felt better if he'd managed to successfully get something more than a single orange for lunch. "I decided that I don't want to yet." He explained vaguely, figuring that the other halfling would know what he was talking about without him having to go into detail - though he didn't know for sure, it was more than likely that he'd also come through the same portal at some point.
"What are you doing here, then...?" He asked aloud, wondering what had brought the other halfling to the same location.
